Faux Marble Finishes: From Elegant to Expressive
A popular faux marble effect is Carrara marble, a prestigious white marble with subtle grey and blue veining from Carrara, Italy. This finish lends purity, simplicity and elegance to any interior. However, white marble is not the only option. Monochromatic marbles also come in a wide variety of colours, including green, cream, black, red, pink, yellow and gold.
We can also emulate polychromatic marbles characterised by a diverse blend of colours and imparting a rich, lively aesthetic. It’s also good to know there’s no law saying faux marble has to be realistically rendered. It can also be painted in a naïve or fantasy style for charming and imaginative effects, which is where specialist decorating can really come into its own.
